Copper SFP SGMII or Serdes

USource copper SFP supports SGMII and Serdes, SGMII is the interface between MAC and PHY.
Most of MAC‘s SGMII interface can be configured SerDes interface which can connect SFP directly, so not need PHY layer‘s chipset.
Intel built-in MAC and PHY together in theirs ICs, so you can configure the output signal mode via eeprom to connect copper SFP RJ45 or optical SFP.
When you install SFP optics, you shall configure SerDes mode;
If install RJ45 SFP, shall configure copper PHY in the flash.
