1. The development of artificial intelligence technology shows a trend of differentiation
The 2024 China ICT Technology Maturity Curve released by market research firm Gartner shows a differentiated development trend in the field of artificial intelligence. Domestic AI chips are currently at the peak of the "expectation inflation period" and are expected to enter the "production maturity period" in the next 2-3 years. Gartner Research Vice President Ji Xinsu pointed out that although there is a technological gap between domestic chips and international giants, with the increase of production capacity and the decrease of costs, market competitiveness will significantly enhance. In contrast, Generative AI (GenAI) has entered a downward phase of "expectation inflation", and corporate investment is becoming more rational. Ji Xinsu emphasized that this is not a case of technology being cold, but rather a need for more application scenario validation and implementation time to promote the maturity of technology.
2. Cost optimization technology becomes the core of enterprise digital transformation
Against the backdrop of increasing economic uncertainty, Chinese enterprises are focusing on deploying cost optimization technologies. Industry cloud, cloud native, low code platforms, robotic process automation (RPA), and DevOps technologies have become key tools for improving operational efficiency. The report shows that enterprises are reducing business delivery costs through embedded low code platforms and RPA, optimizing analysis efficiency through data middleware, and enhancing IT infrastructure agility through DevOps. Telecom operators are particularly concerned about the "digital intelligence center" and cloud computing fields. Ji Xinsu believes that cloud platforms will develop into ubiquitous infrastructure in the future, becoming an important support for enterprise digital transformation.
3. System security and resilience technology has entered its infancy stage
In the early stages of the technology maturity curve, technologies such as confidential computing, sustainable data centers, and digital immune systems emerge. These technologies focus on enhancing system resilience and security, helping enterprises build autonomous and controllable IT architectures. Gartner recommends enhancing system stability and strengthening supply chain security through platform engineering and digital immune systems. With the increasing demand for data security and business continuity among enterprises, these emerging technologies are expected to accelerate maturity in the next 3-5 years, providing underlying guarantees for the development of China‘s digital economy.
